Brown Line: Historic Pubs

Eat, drink and discover Chicago’s River North and Old Town Triangle neighborhoods via the Brown Line!  Join us for a combination of great Chicago stories and adult beverages as we tour a number of historic sites and legendary pubs in the city’s Near North Side.

We’ll kick things off with an awesome burger at Small Cheval in the West Loop, then head to the Merchandise Mart where we’ll board the Brown Line to Old Town.

There, we’ll explore the neighborhood’s colorful history, beginning with a visit to legendary Twin Anchors, followed by a quick peek inside the world-renowned Second City comedy club. We’ll then hop aboard the train to our next destination. In River North, we’ll visit the Green Door Tavern, the oldest pub in Chicago, which sits above a well-hidden, authentic Prohibition-era speakeasy. We’ll finish our tour at Brehon Pub with a fascinating story involving bribery and the Chicago media.
